This is a Baritone acoustic electric from most popular guitar companies on the planet. This particular guitar has the Eight string body. The guitar also comes in an 6 string version and we have it too. It has a huge crystal clear acoustic sound with a great low end because of the 27 inch scale and the baritone strings and clear highs. The tuning on the guitar is B to B rather than E to E on a regular guitar. You can play all your standard cords in the same position and they sound great on this guitar. The 8 string has two more strings than normal and they are octave strings on the D and G strings like a 12 string but it is only on two of the strings (D&G) and not all six doubled like a 12 string. The fourteen fret famously comfortable Taylor neck has super sweet low action and it plays smooth, fast and easy. Even though it has a huge sound which works great for all kinds of music, the action on the guitar also makes it fun to use as a solo guitar. The Ebony fingerboard is smooth and very well dressed and really easy to play. The Rosewood on this guitar is exceptionally beautiful and it sounds very unique because of the Baritone set up. It has a very nice Solid Spruce top with really nice even straight grain. This pristine guitar sounds like a guitar that has been aged for years but it was built in the last year and has been used less than one hour. It is spotless and exactly Like New. The Taylor High End guitars are very expensive fine hand made musical instruments and we do not take lightly the handling of these instruments. We do not get in a hurry when setting up, inspecting or packing these guitars. For this reason please allow at least 10 days to two weeks to receive this guitar. If you need it for your gig next Friday night , this is probably not your best choice. Tragically we have seen some awesome pieces destroyed when shippers get in a hurry.
