Equipped with a Fishman Pre-amp and under saddle Transducer, this 12 String Guitar is capable of accurately reproducing the great 12 string Acoustic sounds that Taylor Acoustic Guitars are noted for. The Guitar has a solid Spruce Top and outrageous "Quilted Maple" Back and Rims. The Guitar also has the rare "Florentine" style Cut-A-Way. When was the last time a Taylor "Florentine" style Cut-a-Way Guitar crossed your path...? There is no buckle rash on the "quilted maple" Back and the Guitar presents itself very well. No finish checking or lacquer crazing anywhere on the guitar. The only "marks" that are on the Guitar are "pick marks" on the Top from strumming the Guitar. These marks are only seen near the bottom of the sound hole, through the Rosette and into the Pick-guard. Some of these pick marks are pronounced under certain lighting conditions but they in no way affect the sound, performance, or playability of the guitar. I couldn't get the camera to pick up these "strum" marks on the Guitar's Top. Other than those strum/pick marks, the Guitar is near new in appearance. Up for bid is a Taylor 814ce acoustic/electric guitar in PERFECT condition! I purchased this guitar brand new from Guitar Center about 4 years ago and have only played it a couple hours total. I'm a collector who owns about 30 guitars and bought this one more as a showpeice. I only play my electrics now, so it's a waste to keep this sitting in a closet. This guitar is in mint, unplayed condition and doesn't have even the slightest blemish on it. You won't find a nicer one in any store that customers have been handling and playing, not to mention that you won't find one anywhere for less than $3,000. There is simply not a better sounding or playing guitar anywhere, and Taylor's Grand Auditorium body style is by far their most popular and desireable. Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Up for sale is my beloved 1984 Taylor 810 acoustic/electric guitar. This beautiful instrument spent the first 14 years of its life in a doctor’s closet in Oklahoma. I rescued it in 1998 and had it lovingly restored, setup, and a Martin Thinline pickup installed by Mike and Holger at Komet Amps. I then proceeded to play the snot out of this thing all over the country! It was so awesome. This 810 is unique in that it has a three piece back like a Martin D35. As a result, it is a freaking cannon volume-wise and has low end for days. Throw a small diaphragm condenser microphone on the 12th fret and it records like butter. I called Taylor when I first bought the guitar and they told me it was built in 1984. This is the Lemon Grove era and the serial number is 2651. If you know anything about guitars, 1984 means fantastic rosewood and spruce! The real deal kind of woods you cannot get for under $4K today. It has a nitrocellulose finish that gets prettier by the year (complete with all the finish cracking that comes from being 28 years old). This is a player’s instrument. After a gazillion shows (I was a traveling worship leader) it has its fair share of dings. I tried to capture these in great detail in the photos. There are two big dings on the back of the neck right under the first two frets. Obviously you can feel these when playing, but they would not be difficult to have filled and refinished. The low E string is a bit buzzy on the second and third frets. There is still life left in the frets. I had them re-crowned a while back. If you have never owned an instrument this age, just know that they have to be regularly maintained. She comes with her original Taylor hard shell case. About three years ago, I also did what the good doctor did, and relegated this poor beauty to a closet. It’s a damn shame because this guitar has a lot of music left inside her. She needs some young buck to take her out again. Some of my best memories happened when I was strapped into this very guitar. Local pick up is fine. Paypal only. No returns.
