There are a couple of cracks on the top behind the bridge and a couple tiny ones at the soundhole. There is one long side crack at the end pin. The top has been oversprayed. There are a couple of screw holes where there was strap buttons. There are 72 years of honest wear on this wonderful guitar. The bridge, bridge plate, pickguard, nut, and tuners are original (new buttons on the tuners). The neck is straight and I believe the frets are original. The fingerboard shows plenty of wear and too has been oversprayed. The frets have some dimpling and have plenty of height on them and play without buzzing or issues. The neck has a V profile and is not overly large. It measures between 1 11/16ths and 1 3/4ths at the nut. The action is two dimes at the 12 fret low E and one penny at the 12th fret high E side. This one has 2 Non-Scalloped Tone Bars... Needless to say, this is a wonderful sounding Pre-War Gibson Acoustic that is loud and has the tone that only a 72 year old Gibson can have! SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ALL PHOTOS! Here is a vintage 1946 Martin 00-18. The guitar has a gorgeous sound and is pretty playable currently but it will need a few things to be setup properly. Currently the action is pretty comfortable (5/32" inches at 12th fret low E) but the saddle is almost gone and there is some buzzing on the open low E. So I imagine a new saddle would be a good start. With that being said the guitar has a nice strong sound that is well balanced and clear. The entire guitar has been oversprayed. There are 4 filled holes around the soundhole and there is a small patch in the top and one in the bottom near the endpin. Other than that the guitar is pretty sound. The back of the guitar features some very attractive mahogany, the spruce top also has some nice grain with some nice "bearclaw" markings running through the center. The neck is straight and the frets and fretboard are in decent shape, the frets may need attention eventually as they are pretty low. The bottom 4 tuners are original (and pretty hard to find, I believe they were only used for 2 years), the top 2 are vintage but not original. The bridge is nice and tight to the top. The width at the nut is 1 5/8" inches. The guitar comes with a vintage chipcase. Domestic US shipping is with Fedex ground. I have the international shipping rate at $150, I only charge actual shipping so I will adjust it after the auction.
